Ishwar Deshmukh College of Physical Education - Nagpur

Ishwar Deshmukh college of Physical Education, was established in the year 1960. The college was then known as Training Institute for Physical Education” and was running C.P.Ed. D.P.Ed. and then H.D.Ed. Course. These courses were run by the Government of Maharashtra in the year 1983, as a policy matter of the State Government our Institution then affiliated to Nagpur University Since then, we are running B.P.Ed. (Two years) B.P.E. (3Years), M.P.Ed. (2years) Course.

This Institution was established by the citizens Education Society which was established by Late Adv. Shri Ishwarbabuji Deshmukh with some mission and vision. He himself was a Sportsman in his days and also freedom fighter. His motto was to serve the nation through education.

Our institution is recognised by Govt. of Maharashtra, Permanently affialated to R.T.M. University Nagpur. recognized by the N.C.T.E. accredited by NAAC and included, under section 2 (f) and 12(b) UGC Act 1956.

The Objectives of the Institution are

• To provide the knowledge, skill, and opportunity to be a physically educated person for a lifetime.
• To inculcate the ability to demonstrate skill in different aspects of physical activities using the concept of awareness in physical education.
• To provide opportunities for personal, social, physical, and ethical development to give better services to the community and the nation.
• To promote a sports culture in society.
• To promote facilities for the development of research in the field of physical education.
